We will be having our grand Rabi fundraising this Saturday from 2 pm through to 11.00pm at the Civic Centre. We are hoping to raise a good sum for our devastated folks on the island who would soon be needing a second stock of relief supplies.

Three months to restore north communications - using Rabi Island Vodafone mast to service Taveuni

Fiji Time Online Tuesday, April 06, 2010

IT will take three months before communication is fully restored to all parts of the Northern Division and some parts of the Lau Group with maintenance works on the Devo Peak mast expected to last that long.

Telecom Fiji Limited northern manager Josaia Tupou said it would take that long to erect the 35 metre-high mast on Taveuni.

Devo Peak serves as an importation communication link between Suva and the Lau group.

Fiji President to visit Rabi this week. RCL organising food aid purchase as Rabi faces critical food shortage

Dr Paulo (Bauro) Vanualailai reported today from Suva, that Fiji President - Ratu Epeli Nailatikau will be visiting Rabi either Wednesday or Thursday in the aftermath of Cyclone Tomas. The Chairman advised that they had also received 34 sets of clothing from the Catholic Archdiocese in Suva as part of an Australia Catholic aid package to assist Fiji. On Monday 22nd March Ken Sigrah arrived on Rabi with food rations for the elders, invalids and mothers with babies. This assistance was kindly sponsored by Ken & Stacey's company Nature Pacific Pty Ltd, and fellow business associates and customers, fellow Banabans, and other friends from Australia, United States, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
