Water shortage on Banaba solved

PACNEWS  By Online Editor 2:56 pm GMT+12, 11/10/2012, Kiribati

A government project in Kiribati to combat the effects of climate change, KAPIII, has successfully solved a shortage of fresh water on the island of Banaba, reports Radio Kiribati.

The people on Banaba will now have uninterrupted supply of fresh water with the water tank for the island that can hold nearly one million litres of water.

Rabi Women Want Better Medical Facilities

Women on Rabi Island suffer similar fate as those on other maritime islands when it is time to give birth – they have to leave their homes and travel to hospitals on the mainland. Students access first library centre

Did someone ever considers other possible causes of rising sea level?

Rabi Island to get own ice plant


An ice plant will be erected on the island of Rabi and should be ready by next year.

Ministry of Fisheries and Forests permanent secretary Inoke Wainiqolo told FijiLive the new ice plant in Rabi is to assist fishermen maintain the freshness of their fish before selling it to the market.
