Man and boat missing off Betio in Kiribati

The United States Coast Guard is searching for a man and an aluminium skiff that went missing near Betio in Kiribati two days ago.

The Pacific News Centre reports that the 24-year-old remained aboard the two-metre boat while two companions went diving about 180 metres from land.

When they surfaced the boat and its passenger were gone, but the divers were able to swim to shore.

21 Fattest Countries on Earth Named by WHO

A new list compiled by the World Health Organization (WHO) names the 21 fattest places on earth, reports CBS News. While about 67 percent of Americans are overweight, the U.S. certainly isn't the only country with a weight problem. The top five overweight nations and their percentages overweight include Panama (67.4), Saudi Arabia (73), French Polynesia (74), Kiribati (82) and American Samoa (94). American Samoa crowned fattest nation

Two South Pacific nations, American Samoa and Kiribati, have been crowned the fattest countries in the world.



The latest obesity report released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) found that 93.5 per cent - more than nine in ten - of American Samoans are overweight or obese.
