Rabi - First Contact

Our first trip ashore at Albert Cove (the settlement of Motawi) was a short one and we met the people who lived in two palm-thatched houses just off the beach. Exciting project - Rabi Island

Fiji hopes to revive coconut industry

Fiji’s interim regime is hoping to revamp the country’s coconut industry through a series of measures aimed at boosting growth.

Speaking at the 49th Asia Pacific Coconut Community conference being held in Nadi this week, the interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, said the industry needed to be supported with modern technology.

Students access first library centre

Transport problems on Rabi island

THE lack of public transport has forced villagers to walk five miles to hospital and also to do shopping.

The island if Rabi has only one bus that belongs to the island council and serves a population of about 3000.

Rabi Council of Leaders chairperson Marlie Rota said the villagers faced a lot of difficulties with transportation.

Another 5 Months for Fiji Coconut Industry to Stabilise
