The Banaban Women's Organisation and its youth group are selling coconut products at the Northern Agriculture Show in Labasa to fundraise for development plans in the village.
The groups from Rabi Island sold coconut products like virgin coconut oil, body lotions, fans and hats.

The change in weather patterns and flooding has seen the demand for crude coconut oil increase and this will mean more money for local copra farmers.

COPRA Millers of Fiji Limited expects to make presentations to the Government for an increase in sea freight subsidy for the transportation of copra to the mill.
The company subsidises the cost of transporting copra to their mill in Savusavu, especially from islands in Lau or from where their agents are located buying copra.
