Coconut replanting program to generate income

Update: 6:00PM GOVERNMENT aims to plant one million coconut plants by next year with the launch of its coconut replanting program on Rabi Island.

The program was launched by the Acting Commissioner North Alipate Bolalevu during the  Rabi Day on Monday.

Mr Bolalevu said the project had been viewed as a major development for the people on the island.

"Coconut is a major commodity for Banabans and the replanting program will also generate income for them." Mr Bolalevu said.
