Dust Storm now hitting Gold Coast Australia

By Stacey at Nature Pacific Pty Ltd, Gold Coast Australia.

Well what an experience it is to be completely engulfed in dust. One of the largest dust storm to ever hit Australia has now arrived on the Gold Coast.

It is now around lunchtime and our factory - Nature Pacific at Burleigh Heads is shrouded in dust. Even in a big factory like ours we have had to put additional covering over stock sitting on our packing shelf to keep the dust off our stock. The factory is totally shut up and yet the dust is still getting in.

Ken will have to go home soon as we left some of windows slightly open to let the air flow through our home. Otherwise we will have a house covered in dust.

The dust apparently has blown in from the outback which would be the equivalant of the distance between Brisbane and Fiji... so the dust has travel many miles. Be interesting to see if our dust ends up blowing over the ditch to New Zealand. I'm sure they will let us know.

Hi stacey....It was a suprise to see sydney covered in red and wanting to explore more of Australia.I was kind of shocked when the weather man said that it might hit New Zealand but i guess it must have been blown back by our silver fern...ahahah.
We experienced our first dust storm last year here in Melbourne and it was horrible.Everything was covered in dust even though all windows were shut and it makes all worse when we have water restrictions too...Hope you're well and everything gets back to normal and we never know where this dust is planning to go next...please not Melbourne.
take care and regards to ken and the family.
