ABC RADIO AUSTRALIA
Thu Feb 12, 2009

The regional cyclone warning centre in Fiji is predicting more bad weather for most of the South Pacific later this week. Flooding from torrential rains due to tropical depressions have already claimed more than 30 lives in Fiji and Solomon Islands. The Director of the Centre, Rajendra Prasad says apart from the Cook Islands, the region has been relatively quiet for the last few days. He says however, that by the weekend conditions are expected to deteriorate again over Fiji and stretch as far as Tonga and Papua New Guinea.
