The region is marking World AIDS Day today with a range of different activities to educate the public about the virus.
This year’s World AIDS day theme is campaigning for free universal testing and treatment worldwide.
Papua New Guinea will have a media campaign, will distribute brochures and will broadcast an info-entertainment.
The Cook Islands will also have a stall to inform the public about the illness and is showing safe-sex TV commercials.
Fiji and French Polynesia will also mark the day by raising community awareness with a range of media and other public activities, while Kiribati will broadcast an info-entertainment.
Tonga meanwhile will show the finalists of a four-day short film competition about HIV/AIDS.
