Rabi Island Driver questioned over car accident

POLICE have arrested the driver on Rabi Island who is believed to have caused an accident that injured 25 people on Tuesday afternoon.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the driver was in police custody and had been questioned over the alleged incident.

He said a total of 30 passengers were in the carrier when the it veered off the road. "The passengers were picked up from Uma Village to go to Buakonikai," he said.

Of the 25 passengers injured, 17 had gone home after clearance from the doctors while eight remained in serious condition.
