While holding consultations in Rabi Island today the commission received a submission from two women groups who raised concern about lack of proper facilities for them on the island.

Constitution Commissioner, Peni Moore said it was a well prepared presentation.

Moore also said they received an interesting submission from a group of young men who play rugby on the island say they never get selected to play for the national team.

Moore said these men were representing the youth of the island who play rugby and they feel discriminated as they always go for matches in Savusavu and Labasa but none of them are ever chosen for national level.

In addition submissions have been made to the commission that a Protection Act be in place for the people of Rabi as they have come in as new settlers.

The Commission received around 43 submissions today.

They will be in Savusavu tomorrow.
