Radio Interview with Marlie Rota EO RCL, Fiji - Stage 2 complete Banaba Island rehabilitation plan

The Rabi Council of Leaders has denied there are plans to re-open phosphate mining on Banaba Island in Kiribati.

Some landowners on the island believe the Fiji-based Council is supporting a bid to recommence mining as part of a rehabilitation program.

But the Executive Director of the Rabi Council of Leaders, Marlie Rota says Banaba Rehabilitation Program does not involve mining but will return the island to its pre-mining state.

Thank you Uncle Ken!!  It was always my passion to be of help to our community and to assist with providing that link to our homeland.  By the time we begin implementation all 'skeletons will be out of the closets'!!  Thanks to you and Aunty Stacey....for your unwavering support!!  Hooray to Banaba and it's people!!

Fantastic interview Marlie...even though Brian was abit lopsided in his questionaires to you I think you took him on very well...but who knows maybe Brian will start openning the can of worms that Australia, New Zealand and Britain have kept hidden for so long...speak of the "skeleton in the closet" this will be it. Once the Banaba rehap news hit the world stage media the "hidden skeleton" will be revealed...you know exactly what I mean here, but for now keep the flame burning for the sake of our Banaban community and our beloved homeland Banaba...cheers.
