Sewing machine donations keep coming for Fiji

Pacific Beat Radio Australia - July 19, 2011 09:25:08

Fiji's interim government plans to supply every village in the country with two sewing machines.

They are on track with a recent donation of 500 electric machines from China.

Most of the 1,170 villages in Fiji have either a hand or treadle machine courtesy of donations from All China Women's Federation, the Indian government and the Latter Day saints.

This latest batch of machines will supply a further 200 villages leaving very few villages without machines.

Presenter: Geraldine Coutts
