From November, the New Zealand territory of Tokelau will begin flying its own flag. The flag has a blue background, with a Southern Cross in the top lefthand corner, and a canoe in full sail on the right hand side. It was officially presented by New Zealand's Governor General at a ceremony in Wellington. The flag won't change Tokelau's political status; indeed the islanders have voted in two past referendums in favour of their continued administration by New Zealand.
