My bad....I intend to write it and only viewed by me.I was gonna copy and paste to my collections of lyrics for the our new band and then delete it later but it was very late last nite and I forgot to do it again the next morning...so my apologies....
Thank James and Ken is being very strict with the kids making sure they identify themselves properly and encouraging them to be proud of being Banaban and not hide behind pseudonyms. This way they are also responsible for what they say and their actions on the site.
Good to see the combination of Banaban youth who are really embracing the new technology and our generation. Ken has never really embraced the interent until now... he is really learning rapidly now and loves keeping in touch. His typing is improving the whole ballgame. Now I don't have to type his letters.
As I said to Ken the members of the group will really build the site themselves. I never realised we had so many Banaban living abroad now.
Anyway take care and good to finally catch up... Stacey
Thanks Stacey, this is a terrific site for the Banaban people especially in sharing with friends and families and the Banaban community. I didn't know until I checked my gmail last night so I invited my wife as well. I often saw my daughter on Bebo almost every night but I wasn't keen at all as I always thought the site is too general but now we have a specific one - you are a "Genius".
Mauri naba Stacey.
Iakoba is currently working in the PM's office mainly looking after the affairs of the Banabans on Rabi Island together with other minority groups, he is fine and okay in his office.
Ko raba for this wonderful website and God bless.
Mauri Stacey!
Thank you for replying to my message. You gave some very good pointers. You guessed right. Its a festival celebrating the different Pacific cultures. Its held at Western Springs which is a huge park and its beautiful. Each island nation has their own "village". The Fijians in Auckland are aware of Rabi so I'm sure I can talk them in to having a dance from Rabi as it is part of Fiji. I have a dance group that I belong to and its called Kabu Kei Okoladi. It means West Auckland. There are 4 girls including me and about 5 or 6 boys. We formed the group late last year and have performed a few times but we have performed and only know 2 traditional Fijian dances and the group is open to other cultural dances. One of the girls is part Rotuman and will be teaching us Rotuman dances. They have asked me to learn and teach them Banaban dances. With the upcoming Pasifika Festival, we hope to have new dances.
I have contacted Paul Eri who lives in Auckland. He said that they have formed a Banaban community group called Banabans in Aotearoa. I have suggested the idea to him and he thinks its a great idea. I will be in touch with him.
I will keep your message in mind. Thank you. Give the warmest regards and hug to Terimoa.

Thank you for creating this site. It's awesome. I am not Banaban but I have become part of the Bananban community. I have grown to love the people and their culture. I also have great interest in their history and their stories. I live in Auckland. I hope you are aware of the annual Pasifika Festival in Auckland. Since Rabi and the Banabans have become a part of Fiji, I was wondering if you could help me with some ideas for the Banabans to become part of the Pasifika Festival. I have a fair idea of how much you have contributed to the Bananban community especially with this site. If you would like to know more about me you can send me a message or speak with Terimoa. Hope to hear from you. Naz
