News and information service for Banaban Network Worldwide!
This was the first time the Pacific Islands Trade & Invest participated with a Pacific pavilion at the event, joining other trade commissions like Malaysia, Korea, China, USA and Cyprus, who also set up country exhibitions showcasing businesses from their respective countries.
The high profile show was an opportunity to profile the range of products available from the Pacific Islands and participants were well rewarded with key connections and contacts from other countries. It also put the in direct contact with key players of Australia’s food and beverage industry at a single event.
It was also an opportunity for exhibitors to see how competitive the marketplace is. There were a range of new products being showcased as well as new technology and packaging for the food industry.
Pacific Island exhibitors were a mix of players established in the Australian markets as well as those new to it. Among the participants, the Banaban Organic Food range proved quite popular at the show.
Its products carry organic certification under USDA and Australia Certified Organic (ACO) from the only certified organic coconut farm in Fiji. The farm also carries Kosher Australia and Halal certification.
The product range also carries with it the interesting but rather stirring story of the Banaban people who were relocated from Banaba or Ocean Island (which is a part of the Republic of Kiribati) to Rabi Island in Fiji.
Pacific Periscope will update readers on further developments on the participants’ experience at Fine Foods in coming weeks.
