THE people of Rabi will soon have better access to goods and services now that construction work for a proposed jetty is expected to be completed next month.

Fiji Roads Authority spokesman Iliesa Sokia said Pacific Building Solutions was in the final stages of completing the jetty.

"Ninety per cent of the work has been completed and we expect to finish up everything next month," Mr Sokia said.

"The jetty will not only enhance efficient movement to and from the island but also accommodate trade.

"People will be employed as big ships and cruises are expected to berth at the jetty."

Mr Sokia says the government aims to provide islanders with better infrastructure.

Rabi Council of Leaders executive director Marlie Rota earlier said the jetty was a relief for them because it would allow easy access for transportation.

Great news!!! Finally the doorway is near completion,, the bridge to rapid development has now come to pass, I believe this jetty is the best thing that has ever happened to Rabi.
One can just imagine the many good things that are about to take place as a result to this.

Good news that Rabi's wharf is near completion. This will make Rabi accessible easily by ferries and cargo ships. However, negotiations has to be made with with ferries to service that route. Hope that our people will make good use of this opportunity for export. "Atuara Buokira"
