News and information service for Banaban Network Worldwide!

These are the first Class photographs that were taken of the Banaban Primary School, Nuku, Rabi, Fiji. Part of Stacey King Collection 1993.

The photographs of these young Banabans were taken 16 years ago and now many of these children will be adults and probably have families of their own. Some of the teachers are now retired. Thanks to the teachers at the time we were able to photograph the whole school population and record this 'moment in time' in Rabi history.

If you would like a higher resolution copy of any of the photographs please email me direct at admin@banaban.com with you email address so I can email you back a copy.

If you would like to add more information to the names of students appearing in each class please add them here in the comment section

i hope u have more photo ..bcoz 1994 i was in class 1.....hahahahahah
n i still remeber one time you came to school but i forgot what year ...and you took again some photos
anyway
Mauri I only did the Banaban school photos in 1993. But I also took some kindy photos that same year as well but I think from memory they were mainly at the Nuku kindy.

I also have photos at the Tabiang and Buakonikai schools, but not CLASS photos like these ones. Back in those days I use to visit the various schools and HS every year when I made a visit but this was the only time I photographed the whole school, so it is a real snippet of history.

Regards Stacey

Thanks so much Stacey.

Dear Ex.Banaban Primary School students,

It is so saddening to hear the passing away of one of our beloved Banaban primary teacher-Mrs Makin Corrie Karoro in New Zealand.

Mrs Makin Karoro was a primary teacher at the Banaban Primary when I came to the Banaban Primary to be in class 6A. A teacher who is so dedicated to her work and very strict with the school rules.

Mrs Makin even though you're in a more peaceful and happier place but you will always be remembered by all the children you have taught at the Banaban Primary School...

God heal the sorrowful hearts of Mrs Makins family n friends but mostly those who are really close to her.

REST IN PEACE MISTRESS MAKIN..GOD BLESS YOUR JOURNEY.
