After such a great Pacific Break in 2008, we simply had to do it again!

Competition began 1March 2009 and Closes 1 September 2009 - so be quick!!!!

Last year's entries showcased the amazing quality, depth and range of musical talent in the Pacific, and the Pacific Break team can't wait to share the 2009's crop of creative masterminds with you. Pacific Break 2009 kicks off on March 1, 2009.

Visit your local music store, music school or rehearsal studio to find your copy of The best of Pacific Break 2008 – our compilation CD boasting the cream of last year's competition.

Featured artists: Remedy (Vanuatu/Aotearoa), Dynamic Doug and the Blues Jam Band (Cook Islands), 2008 winning band 26 Roots (Vanuatu), Toniq (PNG), Baby Bone (Niue/Samoa), Traditional Roots (Solomon Islands), Nelson S (Guam), Sam Clark (PNG), Zoocastra (PNG), Gon Dau Ni Bula (Fiji), Green Music Band (PNG) and Tae Kami (Tonga/Fiji).

We'll be looking at some of the music we've uncovered through the competition — as well as at Fest'Napuan 2008 — on the Pacific Break blog.

Now, without further ado: here's all the information you need to enter the competition and begin your journey to the big stage!

The competition
Pacific Break is a competition searching for the best original unsigned musical talent in the Pacific.

Entry is easy — just send in your original work on MP3, CD or tape.

Every week on Radio Australia's In The Loop and Breakfast Club programs, the best entries will be showcased.

The winning artist will play at Fest'Napuan in October this year.

We'll fly you there. We'll look after you. All you have to do is play at a major Pacific music festival in front of thousands.

Good luck!
