For anyone that has any doubts over rising sea levels they need to visit Tarawa in Kiribati when the next westerly's and king tides hit the island and take a drive along the causeway between Betio and the island's capital Bairiki. “If these people can spend millions and millions on sending troops to fight other countries, why can’t they spend maybe a couple of billions just to save people, like ourselves; the marginalised, poorest of the poor. Why? Because we are taking the brunt, we are the victims of these green[house] gas emissions, the pollution made by industrialised countries.”

Hi
Just a quick email to offer any help I can. I've been following the Banaban story for some time now, having chanced upon the island's appalling fate as part of my studies into the effects of phosphate fertilizer contaminants on arable land.
I'm a resident of Cambridge UK and have access to the University library, where I notice there is an archive of " Ocean Island " Litigation Records from the 1970s attempt at restitution through the British Courts. Would any of this…

I am sure many of our young Banaban generation will find these photos very interesting. They are photos of fossilized ancient and extinct Shark's tooth and other shells and phosphate rocks that were discovered by Roger Anderson in the 1960's amongst the phosphate diggings topside on Banaba.
Roger has had the Shark's Tooth dated and identified by an Australian Museum. Roger was the younger brother of Peter Anderson who also had a wonderful artifact collection from Te Aka village that…
