Stacey. I found that I made your name incorrect in some occassion please accept my apology. I just want to thank you again for helping me finding the man who wrote the book Michael Field. He sent me the book about two weeks ago. It is an intresting book and a lot of things I found in it. Most of all about the Pastor namely Iupeli a Samoan missionary who came to Beru Island before WWII and was there too when the Japs occupied the island. This was in the school where I went to in 1960 and I heard about his courage  to help the students.  Thank you again.

Stacey, Thank you very much I appreciate all the information you made about him.
At the time he passed away, I was in Tarawa and i had no time to attend his funeral since all the flights were not available in such a time. I wrote this comment in New Zealand in Hamilton city. Again thank you and God bless you and family

Stacey, please forgive me I did use incorrect english my father has already passed away three years back in his home at Nikunau Island. He always remembered the family of Rotan in Rabi that they are good and friendly family.

Mauri Stacey i think she's related to my dad but her parents name were banati and nei rakaba.she has older brothers rino and terakei married to nei karorine.Eri has also another mentally ill sister just like herself and we got to know eri well coz she used to live with us in the island.Im sure na ken knows how she moves around alot from village to village but was quite stable living with us.
I guess my mum had a bond with nei eri and made sure that she was well looked after especially finding out about her pregnancy. It was heartbreaking for my mum especially not knowing who had fathered my sister.
Hope ne ken still remembers nei eri with her favourite phrase 'parapashoe'.
Okay ea tau moa au barantiko and hope that teri and hubby are okay.

Mauri stacey and oh sorry for the misunderstanding. It sounds like you're picking up with the language hahaha just like my mum being  tongan and speaks the language fluently and even forgetting her own language.I'm not sure if you know that my mum adopted nei eris daughter.Elmarisa is 19 years now and blessed to have her as our sister. It's sad to see some of eris photos on biaras page coz shes looking old.

Hi Stacey and Ken, great to be here. We've done a lot of work on cyclone-proofing tropical housing...I would love to see what we might be able to do on this together...let's talk as soon as we can. I'll leave it with you to suggest a time when Peter is available too.
cheers

Mauri Stacey,
Fact is I haven't seen that BV page yet, but that's good some of us are real quick. Will it be possible for you to provide us some details/guidelines/directions to the assistance of the Uniting Church mission?
Regards
Taka.

Actually it was 40 yrs from the breaking of the hillside (our elders called it mount Ioretan) in 1955 till the official opening of the church building in 1995. Our elders had the determination and strength because they were born and lived through hardship and difficulties caused by the elements of nature and greed of men from their ancestral homeland to their forced adopted land. For the young Banabans it is an inherited trait and will be fully awakened if we continue to give them truth and details of our Banaban history. Ones that is fully digested there will be no stopping of the Banaban people like what is happening right now for the Buakonikai church. The young Buakonikai generation in the village, Suva and Lautoka are now moving fast for the restoration of their church building. As of last night more than FJD1,000.00 is ready for the purchase of tarpaulin to cover the damaged roof of the church building until proper repairs are made. There were actually three different groups that moved at the same time without realisation of each other. One group was the very young Buakonikaians – the youth – mostly students. We managed to merged all three last night and the tarpaulins are scheduled to reach Buakonikai next Thursday.
Tia bo moa.
