Pregnant little ones (Fiji Times Mon 20 June 2011)

 

 

SEVEN primary school students aged between 11 and 14 years have been reported pregnant since January this year. The Cakaudrove Provincial Council revealed this to The Fiji Times, saying it was an alarming trend in the province. Police call on parents to monitor children

POLICE have issued a fresh call for parental supervision of children following the early morning Wednesday road accident that killed three members of an extended family.

A stern warning has also been issued to club owners as reports indicated that the group of seven involved in the Nodovu, Lautoka, accident were returning from a nightclub.

Four passengers currently admitted in Lautoka Hospital are students.

Rabi youths in custody after assaulting 49 yr old farmer (Fijivillage.com)

A 49 year old farmer of Rabi is admitted at the Rabi hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by two youths who accused him of practicing witchcraft.



Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the two youths are now in custody of Rabi Police and it is alleged that the two believed that the farmer was practicing witchcraft on the island and confronted him.

Major tsunami damage in Solomons' western province

Fiji Times: Tuesday, January 05, 2010



Update: 2:02PM INITIAL reports show hundreds of homes were damaged and large areas completely inundated in the Solomon Islands' Western Province as a result of yesterday's earthquakes and tsunami.



Around 3600 people live on Rendova Island according to UNICEF, which was already on the ground in Gizo working with reconstruction of schools that were affected by the last tsunami in the area in 2007.
