Mauri Roba!

All our coconut oil is VIRGIN COCONUT OIL which is made out of fresh coconuts (within 24 hours) not the copra style of coconut oil which is smoky and rather rancid. VCO is extremely fine, rich coconut flavour and aroma. It is has now been discovered that coconut oil is the healthiest oil in the world and extemely high in Lauric acid, then next highest to Mother's milk. So a lot of the people here in the western and now Asian countries are using it as a health tonic and healthy cooking oil and as you already know it is fantastic for the skin. The scented VCO oils we make are based on Banaban traditional scents such as Frangipani, Sandalwood, YlangYlang, Pure VCO and Te Uri (beach gardenia). As you know back home they ladies boil the actually fresh flowers into the oil. Every time we go home we take heaps and they love them. They have put up pictures and brochures of our products up in the Rabi Library.

We also supply the VCO to the racehorse industry as the horses run nice and fast on it and the greyhounds as well. We have also developed a PET range.... as you know it is so funny to see dogs back on the island fighting over a fallen coconut. Did you notice that the island dogs all have snippy narrow nose so they can get in and eat out a coconut shell. Isn't nature funny how everything evolves to suit the local environment.

Ken said that te kabubu is made from pandanus when they make a power out of the ground up pandanus and then mix it.

You will find a look more information on our Nature Pacific website and how we tell the story of the Banabans on all our packaging. We are just now working on our second container or VCO since Oct last year which is the equivelant of 34 tons at the moment - so as you can see we are starting to move a bit of oil here in Australia. I was at a trade show in Las Vegas last Nov just after I visited Rabi. We are trying to crack the US market and only have a smaller distributor there at the moment. Lot of competition coming out of Philipines but as we know Fiji has a very good name in US so hoping to promote the FIJI Virgin Coconut Oil and Banaban story in the future.

Regards Stacey

PS You will also find photos of Nei Geness dressed in traditional Banaban costume in our webpage. She is the epitone of natural health and beauty and everything our Banaban products stand for. Oh by the way the pure VCO will solidfy at about 22 degrees C. In the tropics and summer months here it is liquid and turns solid for colder months. Of course in the States you will mostly only see it when it is solid white.

Do you folks have the coconut oil smell like smoke or te kabubu..normally the Banaban dancing group and Rabi Dancing group put on them to look shiny?
