He's your family so no arguments from me. If Rota Bureitetau, Marlie's father, id him as Eria then it is Eria, your uncle. And yes, it's nice to know that our fathers/uncles learnt a lot of things that had assisted them to survive the first years on Rabi making it possible for us to be born into a more friendly environment.
Taka.

ahahaaha @Marlie...I am confused now is it the late Eria or late grandpa Bureitetau? I learned that grandpa was born in the 1915 and passed away near a Jetty @ the Umantakataka in Buakonikai after a boxing match in 1950. He had heart attack? Left behind 7 children including Butau who was still in the womb.So is this picture taken b4 Bureitetau died or is it Eria's picture?
@ Taka... thanks & much much ko raba for the response...so after 5 years or so this unique program of scouting was established after te moan aerake in 1945? Awesome! to know !! Very historic!

The one identified as Bureitetau is my Uncle Eria. The source of identification is none other than his younger brother and father of mine - Rota Bureitetau.

Mauri Rusira and Roba,
We have the same id but I did not want to put all in as I might make mistakes. It's good that the two of us at least have the same id. What do you think of this one - between Uaieta and Ani is Bureitetau, Roba's grandpa.
Yes Roba (Kabunare Tearoba) there was a scout, girl guide, and cubbs (hope this is correct). We were fortunate in our young days (late 1960s to early 1970s) to be members of the the cubbs and later young scouts. We learnt a lot of survival skills in those times...
God bless
Taka.

Mauri Rusira and Roba
We have set up a page where you can add your names if you can identify people - just click on the FORUM on the RH side of the page. Heading is CAN YOU IDENTIFY BANABAN ELDERS IN HISTORIC PHOTOS PROJECT.
If you can add any ID's into the comments section and I will upload them to the photos description as soon as I get the chance.
Thanks
Stacey
