Thanks, Stacey. I contacted you and Ken a little over 6 years ago after we adopted our youngest son, Joshua, who was born on Rabi in 2002. I was able to visit Rabi in 2006 and met with Joshua's father and siblings. My oldest daughter and I stayed with Teatu and Rebo at that time. Since then I have felt that our family might be able to help Joshua's people somehow. We will be going to Fiji for 2 weeks in July and plan to go to Rabi for part of the time. Joshua knows he's a Banaban and is starting to ask a lot of questions, so I want him to see his homeland. Regards, Merylin
mom at the moment we are trying to connect the internet, many tried this but failed so am trying with Kaite our Burser to install by following procedures given from Connect company. The one we are using now is a private one it is different, its a moboile net, but the one we tried is the telephone modem, but this telephone modem is a cheaper one its only $58.00. mom after lunch we'll try.

Good morning Stacey my lovely sister-in-law. I thank God for giving us this lovely time to be able to converse in this network. First of all I want to ask you this morning when you wake up from your bed and your family. How's your business going. My family are very well at home and my special hubby Jerome Kanimea.
That's all for to day from Cunningham..from your sister-in-law Baeang Kanimea.
Hi Stacey
Been back six weeks now. Full on at the moment as I'm working and studying full time, doing a masters of music. I had a successful albeit wet trip. The planned sea kayak trip around udu point had to be shortened as I think I menioned. Nevertheless had a great time. While I did stop in at Vale Levu, Pat was at that time in Suva, waiting I believe, to head off to NZ. I had tea with a kai loma who is caretaker there. Sea kayaking is the way to go, stacey. slow enough to take in the scenery without haveing to deal with the excrable tracks and worse, wading in front of or through mangroves. Next trip Beni, a mate of mine from wainigadru wih whom I did the kayak trip and with whom I generally stay(another friend of Pat's) and I plan to start from Labasa and paddle our way around the coast. I plan to be there for about six weeks at chrismas during which time in addition to kayaking around the place, I plan to do some field work in an udu point village, looking at the way they learn, compose and teach music. Should be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to it. Also, I should be able to zap across to Rabi sans genorater. Maybe I can stick it in the kayak and paddle across with Ben!!
Anyway off to the theatre so must go. Am looking forward to catching up either here or better still in Fiji/Rabi

Hello Stacey,
thank u for ur nice words, was really very nice done by u. I thaught that ur people might have an interest seeing pics from where I live, on the other side of the world, 70 degrees north, 250 km north of the city of Tromsø.Skjervøy is an island and there are living about 2500 people.
I myself are born in Munich, Bavaria and I moved to Skjervøy in 1966, quite a while ago.
I read the story of Banaban and its people and allthough they are less fortunate they have that natural smile.
KInd regards
Gunnar
