News and information service for Banaban Network Worldwide!
All communication on Rabi has been badly damaged, including Vodafone tower, Satellite dish, etc. RCL Chairman, Paulo Vanualailai believes it will be sometime before communications are restored on the island.
We are still trying to get an Emergency Satellite phone link that Ken has taken in but no contact yet with the Island.
We have set up this SPECIAL - MESSAGES FOR HOME (RABI) discussion page where you can post messages or information you are trying to find out back home in the island.
Could we please ask anyone traveling to Rabi to please PRINT OUT these messages and take them in for distribution to loved ones back home so we can let them know that their families are trying to help them from this end.
This is very important to help with morale. As our Chairman Paulo has stated, "Our people on Rabi are just devastated. They had never fully recovered from Cyclone Ami and now Tomas has finished off what Ami had started."

Our hearts and prayers go to our beloved family members, friends and all those who are badly affected by this cyclone on Rabi Island. I can not image how bad and devastating the cyclone has impacted on them, but hope that helps and supports are already on the way immediately for natural disaster assistance maybe and helps to restore all communications back so we keep in touch with families and friends in the island. Lets open up to these peoples who are in this very difficult and sad situation and help in anyways we can, and especially lets remember them in our prayers too.
